Automated Surveying Unit (ASU 2)
The world's first real-time, satellite-enabled, edge-computing bioacoustic monitoring device.
ASU 2 available now!
99% faster than surveying with ARUs
Learn of species detections on your lands within 30 minutes instead of months
3 powerful functions, 1 device
Record
Capture high-quality audio on a user-programmable schedule. Configure recording schedule, parameters and processing parameters either remotely or directly. Choose between recording with one or two microphones (dual-channel) for higher quality audio and redundancy.
Process
With the latest classification algorithms. The ASU supports USFS's open source PNW Cnet (version 5) as well as BirdNET. Processing runs on audio immediately after it is captured, supporting the identification of 6,500+ target species along with environmental noises and anthrophony like rain, gunshots, chainsaws, human voices and vehicles.
Transmit
As soon as processing is complete, the detection counts from the latest recording slot are transmitted over satellite. Within 30 minutes, the data is processed and displayed in Instinct's web application where it can be viewed, downloaded and even linked to an alerts and alarms system supporting push notifications, text messages, phone call and email alerts. Instinct's web and mobile apps make accessing the important insights quicker and easier than ever.
